Monalisa Chinda-Coker is out while Emeka Rollas returns as AGN President

By Benjamin Njoku

Ejezie Emeka Rollas, MON, has returned unopposed for a second term as National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN.

Rollas was re-elected in Benin on Tuesday. He also received 115 votes in favor to four votes against to retain his position, just as Abubakar Yakubu Salisu received 120 votes in favor to one no to return as national secretary.

Veteran actress Oby Okaforwin has been named the guild’s new national treasurer. She defeated Rhoda Adugba who received 50 votes.

Meanwhile, the Guild’s National PRO position, formerly held by Monalisa Chinda-Coker, has been declared vacant as the star actress declined to run for a second term.

Insiders revealed that the actress is cooking up a new project that will require her full focus in the coming year. The guild we hear will fill the post in a by-election at a later date.

The new exco, who was sworn in on Tuesday, will serve for a new 3-year term.
